Jo Lynn's Story
After high school I started out at SMC and became an RN. I worked a couple of years and then went back part time to U of M and got my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) I then moved to Grand Rapids where I was on the faculty of a nursing school. After a few years I went to Wayne State University and got my Master's of Science in Nursing. Through this I was able to sit for certification to be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for 23 years. I was starting to feel burned out but knew I wanted to work at something related to nursing. I got certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant. Now I run my own consulting business out of my own home and I make my own hours. I work with attorney's and review cases related to medical malpractice, personal injury, nursing home abuse, toxic tort just to ...Expand for more

As you can see my life has been pretty full and I took the career woman route. I finally got married in 2007 and now live in O'Fallon, IL which is 20 miles east of St. Louis. Well, that's my life in a nut shell. It hasn't all been work. I've had the opportunity to go to Romania twice to work with the orphans and to teach at a school of nursing, and now, God willing I will get the chance to go to Ethiopia on a Medical mission trip. The nice thing is we have the option of traveling to other countries afterwards which I usually do.
Probably my biggest regret in life is that I didn't marry earlier and have the opportunity to have a family. Those of you who have children and grandchildren know what I'm talking about. But, overall I've had a great life and feel blessed to have had the opportunities that I did.
